you see, i had been struggling with alcohol addiction for many years and i finally realised that it was bigger than me.
when i was 44 years old i booked myself into a rehabilitation center for the treatment of alcohol abuse and dependency.
and i’m so glad i did because while i was in rehab, i decided to have a routine mammogram which revealed i had breast cancer
it is estimated that for women who take one drink per day on a regular basis, the risk of developing breast cancer is increased by 4% over that of non-drinkers, and for those who take three or more drinks per day, it is increased by up to 50% (seitz, 2012).
